My Mother Bought A Quilt Shop!

Seasons Of Home in Midway, Utah is now in the very capable hands of Ann McEuen. For her this is a life long dream come true, for me it means I have to sew my own projects. I have depended on her for so long to do these things for me.

"Mom, I need a pillow,"
"Mom, I need a bag."
Bless her, she loves me.

I couldn't be more excited to be a part of Seasons of Home and of the creative process but I must admit to some misgivings. But this blog is about figuring out what you want to do and finding it in yourself to do it, despite all the things that could hold you back.

Here are a few facts about me to give you a glimpse into my psyche:

I collect fabric. I collect projects. I have really pretty roller cutters (purple floral, adorable). I have a sewing machine. I have bags of clothes patterns. I have 3 quilting projects in the works. I have 3 cross stitches also in the works, one a baby sampler for my 2 1/2 year old.

It's time to finish these projects and have something in my home that I made with my own two hands. I'm going to make my mother proud.

So here is one of my first solo projects ever. It's going to be a pillow and is the simplest thing to do with just the button hole stitch. I've never worked with wool before but I love how vibrant it is. When I finish it I'll do kits for the store with Ann's (mom's) help of course. Ann is the pillow queen.

I can't wait to finish it- and yes the photograph shows the uneven side which I will be trimming.
