How Early

How early is too early for a girl to use an iron? Now, I know 6 is probably too young so she's just flipping and using the Dresden plate tool on the points. BUT she's 7 at the end of the month!

Hexagon Purse

I love Hexagons! Here I used a few to embellish a simple tote made out of French ticking. Next up is a cross back apron out of the stripe. I may be Abel to throw a few hexagons on that too!

Sewing

One day a lady called our store and said that her husband and 6 other men were going to be at a business retreat in Midway and they want to take a sewing class.  The men work for a computer company called "needle".  We thought this was weird because it had nothing to do with their company and not many men want to sew.  Our employee Jill took this on and did get.  The husband came in that day and picked out the fabric.  Jill got Tricia, and Karen to help her teach.  They brought their sewing machines for the men to use.  Each man made a quilt block, then put the blocks into a quilt.  The quilt was going to be used at their office.  The guys did a great job.  The quilt turned out awesome.  Thanks Jill for teaching these guys how to sew.

Hexagons at Last

I love the grandmother's garden quilt pattern but that many hexagons has always seemed like a real life's work type of thing.

For our last quarters quilt book club at Seasons of Home we are doing...

One of the yummiest quilts you've ever seen. I actually picked this out for the store myself because I couldn't walk away from it!

Anyway, there is a small hexagon panel in it and...

Ahhhhh!!!! It was so easy! A sharp needle is very important but besides that it's pretty low energy. Since I'm pregnant with twins low energy is about my limit. I did this all this morning in about 2 hours or so. 40 hexagons! Now I'm just whip stitching them together and I'll be done.

Here's another cute little block from the quilt. They're so much fun!

Awesome 30's

I'm not sure the 1930's can be considered awesome but the cute prints from it definitely are! Here is one of the cutest quilts I've seen using these great reproduction prints.

It's actually really easy and in about 2 days of a few hours wrk I had this...

I'm totally in love with it. The pattern is by Geoff's Mom Patterns.
